Senior Principal AE-RF Design Engineer (mmWave)

What you will do

• Design 30 GHz+ millimeter-wave transceivers and components for 5G/6G communications, aerospace radar, and automotive sensors.
• Develop custom RF blocks, including power amplifiers, low-noise amplifiers, mixers, and voltage-controlled oscillators.
• Design transmitter and receiver signal chains and RF PLLs, including sigma-delta and fractional-N architectures.
• Work with direct-conversion transceiver and phased-array architectures, analyzing system metrics such as ACPR, EVM, and BER.
• Drive designs through conception, tape-out, final lab validation, and customer engagement.
• Address parasitic extraction, thermal management, and high-frequency electromagnetic modeling challenges.

Requirements

• 10+ years of industrial experience taking IC designs from conception through tape-out and final lab validation.
• Deep expertise in RF building blocks, transmitter and receiver signal chains, PLLs, and phased-array systems.
• Hands-on experience with advanced RF SOI process technologies and their design trade-offs.
• Mastery of EDA tools including VSS, hirify.global Virtuoso, VRF, EMX, Clarity, Layout MXL, QRC, and Pegasus.
• Extensive lab characterization experience with spectrum analyzers, VNAs, and probe stations.
• Usually an M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
