VP, Data Platform & Engineering (AI)

hirify.global is an AI-native company building a food intelligence platform at the intersection of AI, data, security, and human health.

What you will do

• Build and operate a portfolio of internal data products with authenticated capabilities and clear contracts for domain teams.
• Replace the single-gatekeeper deployment model with a production deployment regime that enables engineers to ship safely and independently.
• Implement medallion architecture, gold certification by code, and separation of pipeline state from food facts.
• Own data security and governance, including least-privilege access, trust boundaries, general availability of key data products, and retirement of ad-hoc database credentials.
• Enable secure access through MCPs and other AI-friendly interfaces, while building automated and agentic workflows.
• Manage data engineering individual contributors and establish observability, entity resolution services, and operational excellence across data practices.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering, data platforms, or infrastructure, including team leadership.
• Experience building data products and teams from zero to one.
• Deep knowledge of data contracts, medallion or equivalent quality architecture, and promotion discipline.
• Strong judgment in data security, least privilege, trust boundaries, and access control.
• Fluency with AI-assisted and agentic engineering as a primary working model.
• Strong SQL and systems thinking across UI, API, database, and infrastructure boundaries; ability to work in an ambiguous, fast-moving startup environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with MCPs, capability layers, or API-first data access patterns.
• Experience with observability tooling and production diagnostics.
• Experience with Postgres, DuckDB, MotherDuck, and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience building internal developer tooling or data-product platforms.
