VP Of Engineering (AI)

Location: Remote from any country except Russia and Belarus; onsite business trips may be required.

What you will do

• Own the engineering organization end-to-end and grow it from 45 to more than 100 engineers.
• Hire, coach, and develop the engineering management layer while refining career ladders and hiring processes.
• Structure the organization and architect the platform for hypergrowth.
• Establish a predictable software development lifecycle and maintain quality standards, SLAs, and operational excellence.
• Partner with Product leadership to prioritize and deliver the highest-impact business outcomes.
• Manage production capacity, FinOps, and vendor relationships to prevent engineering bottlenecks.

Requirements

• 10+ years of engineering management experience, including leadership of teams with 30+ engineers.
• Experience with high-scale software development and operations and customer-facing SaaS products.
• Strong knowledge of agentic systems and software architecture.
• English and Russian at B2+ level, with excellent spoken and written communication skills.
• Must be located anywhere except Russia and Belarus.
• Startup experience and the ability to make rapid decisions while building organizations from zero to one.

Nice to have

• Previous experience scaling an engineering organization from approximately 40 to 150 people as a VP of Engineering or CTO.
• Experience with AI, machine learning, voice, real-time systems, or high-scale public-cloud software.
• Leadership style based on clarity, empathy, and constructive conflict management.
