Assembly Technician (Manufacturing)

Location: Ponchatoula, Louisiana, United States; on-site

Salary: $20–26 per hour plus bonus

What you will do

• Prepare, assemble, and fabricate parts and assemblies using hand tools, PPE, drills, and metal-tapping equipment.
• Follow work instructions and production timeframes while meeting zero-defect quality standards.
• Complete quality check sheets, photograph projects, and maintain production documentation.
• Package, palletize, band, and ship products according to packing procedures.
• Update work-order status, communicate production and safety issues, and coordinate daily workflow.
• Load and unload delivery trucks and move materials using pallet jacks or forklifts.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 0–2+ years of experience reading and interpreting mechanical drawings or blueprint packages.
• Mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, teamwork, and a continuous-improvement mindset.
• Ability to lift, lower, push, and pull merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, and bend for 8 or more hours daily.
• Participation in the drug and alcohol program and successful completion of a background check are required.

Nice to have

• Ability to check and modify drawings.
• Forklift experience.
• Experience with drills, impact drivers, torque wrenches, angle grinders, saws, and nail guns.
• Electro-mechanical experience.
• ISO 9001:2015 experience.
