TL;DR
Head of Royalty Services (Patent Licensing Operations): Leading royalty administration, reporting, billing, allocations, tax documentation, and financial performance for global patent licensing programs with an accent on operational accuracy, compliance, customer service, and team leadership. Focus on building scalable workflows, managing KPIs and controls, improving cross-functional processes, and supporting new revenue programs.

Location: Greenwood Village, United States; hybrid schedule with required work in the Denver office three days per week, Tuesday through Thursday

Base salary: $152,000–$209,000 per year for the Denver area, plus bonus opportunity.

Via Licensing Alliance, a subsidiary of hirify.global, administers global patent licensing programs across audio, video, broadcast, power, and other technologies.

What you will do

  • Lead and develop the Royalty Services department, setting goals, priorities, performance expectations, and accountability.
  • Oversee patent license administration, billing, royalty reporting, allocations, revenue forecasting, budgeting, and distributions to patent holders.
  • Manage licensee reporting, customer service, payment compliance, delinquent accounts, payment arrangements, and escalations.
  • Direct the tax certificate process and maintain controls that reduce tax-related risks and payment delays.
  • Establish KPIs and performance metrics, communicate operational trends and risks, and report to the VP of Finance and senior leadership.
  • Drive process improvement, operational excellence, and cross-functional initiatives supporting existing and future revenue programs.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of extensive, directly related experience.
  • College degree required; CPA, MBA, or another relevant professional designation preferred.
  • Detailed knowledge of auditing standards and advanced working knowledge of Microsoft business applications, especially Excel and Outlook.
  • Working knowledge of Jira, project management, and issue-tracking software.
  • Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, collaboration, management, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to lead people, manage multiple priorities independently, and build trusted relationships with executives and cross-functional stakeholders.
