Royalty Audit Manager (Contract Compliance)

Location: Hybrid, with in-person attendance at least three days per week in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, New York, or Austin, United States.

Base salary: $138,000–$172,500 annually.

What you will do

• Lead multiple domestic and international royalty and contract compliance audits from planning through reporting.
• Manage risk-based audit selection, scoping, budgets, staffing, schedules, milestones, and third-party reviews.
• Interpret licensing, distribution, content, talent, participation, merchandising, and royalty agreements.
• Direct fieldwork and financial, operational, and contractual testing of royalties, deductions, reserves, advances, guarantees, controls, and supporting records.
• Analyze large datasets, identify anomalies and non-compliance, prepare dashboards and reports, quantify recoveries, and support negotiations and settlements.
• Serve as a primary client contact while supervising, coaching, and developing audit staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Technology, MIS, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of related experience in a consulting practice or similar function serving cross-industry clients.
• Required professional certification; CPA, CISA, CISSP, CIA, or CISM preferred.
• Experience managing multiple audits concurrently and leading global teams with diverse backgrounds.
• Strong client service, communication, analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
• Ability to travel as needed.

Nice to have

• Advanced data analysis experience with Alteryx, Python, or SQL.
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, analytics or automation software, and Generative AI.
• Familiarity with intellectual property, licensing, and royalty structures.
