Deputy Construction Project Manager – Disaster Recovery

Location: On-site in Los Angeles County, California; candidates must reside in California and be able to reasonably access or support work within Los Angeles County. Travel throughout Los Angeles County and statewide travel for site visits and staff support may be required.

Salary: $118,807–$201,971 annually

What you will do

• Manage day-to-day operations and logistics for multidisciplinary field personnel across Los Angeles County.
• Coordinate field construction activities, inspections, contractor work, quality assurance, and project completion.
• Develop and refine construction processes, standard operating procedures, and operational improvements.
• Ensure compliance with HUD CDBG-DR and CDBG-MIT requirements, California and Los Angeles County building codes, floodplain and wind zone regulations, and program quality goals.
• Lead, train, mentor, and support field teams while coordinating with officials, contractors, subcontractors, and program managers.
• Track schedules, milestones, budgets, risks, reports, scopes of work, and contractor submissions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in construction management or field operations.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams of inspectors, engineers, subcontractors, and construction personnel.
• Knowledge of HUD CDBG-DR/CDBG-MIT requirements and Los Angeles County and California building, fire, green, and residential codes.
• Knowledge of ADA and accessibility standards, plus strong leadership, writing, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with construction management and estimating tools such as Xactimate and RSMeans, Microsoft Excel and Word; valid driver’s license and willingness to travel required.
