Senior Systems Engineer (Okta)

Location: San Francisco, CA, United States; on-site

Salary: $165,000–$200,000 annually plus bonus

What you will do

• Manage advanced Okta capabilities, device trust, expression language, and identity lifecycle processes.
• Implement RBAC practices, adaptive security policies, identity governance, PAM, and zero-trust controls.
• Build automated workflows with Workato, Okta Workflows, and Lumos.
• Plan and execute SAML, OIDC, and OAuth application integrations with minimal operational disruption.
• Resolve complex authentication, API, and access incidents as a Tier 2 escalation point.
• Mentor Service Desk members and create documentation and standard operating procedures for IAM operations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Systems Engineering or Identity and Access Management.
• Strong Okta administration and identity lifecycle management experience; Okta Administrator or Consultant certification is preferred.
• Experience with Lumos or a similar identity governance platform and with Workato or Okta Workflows automation.
• Fluency with REST APIs and scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell for troubleshooting and bulk operations.
• Knowledge of RBAC, identity governance, PAM strategy, zero-trust security, and Google Workspace Enterprise.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
