hirify.global is hiring for a client developing and operating scalable production web applications and APIs.

What you will do

• Build and maintain production Ruby on Rails applications, backend services, business logic, and internal tools.
• Design and maintain RESTful APIs, webhooks, third-party integrations, SaaS platform integrations, and payment system connections.
• Develop asynchronous workflows with Sidekiq or Resque, using Redis and caching strategies.
• Design and optimize PostgreSQL or MySQL schemas, SQL queries, indexes, and database performance.
• Implement authentication, authorization, rate limiting, monitoring, and secure development practices.
• Troubleshoot production issues, improve application and background job performance, participate in code reviews, and reduce technical debt.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional Ruby on Rails development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Ruby, Rails, ActiveRecord, MVC architecture, and scalable backend application development.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL, REST APIs, Sidekiq or Resque, Redis, caching, and background processing.
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and debugging production systems.
• Knowledge of secure development and OWASP best practices.
• Ability to work remotely from South Africa or Kenya during U.S. business hours.

Nice to have

• Experience with React, Vue.js, or Stimulus.
• AWS, GCP, or Heroku deployment experience.
• Background in SaaS, fintech, healthcare, or e-commerce.
• Experience with Devise, OmniAuth, or high-traffic Rails application optimization.
