Senior Manager, Environmental Planning

Location: Denver, CO, US; on-site. Travel to project sites, corporate offices, and regulatory agency meetings may be required for 25–45% of working time.

Salary: $130,000–$160,000 annually plus bonus, with Restricted Stock Units included in all offers.

What you will do

• Lead environmental planning, permitting, compliance strategies, and continuous improvement for data center and power generation projects.
• Oversee preliminary environmental assessments, wetland delineations, water and biological surveys, air permit analyses, and other pre-project due diligence.
• Develop standardized environmental screening frameworks, risk matrices, corporate programs, policies, KPIs, tools, and workflows.
• Translate environmental constraints involving wetlands, floodplains, protected species, and water resources into guidance for land acquisition and corporate development.
• Partner with engineering, construction, and site environmental teams on stormwater management, audits, and construction compliance tracking.
• Maintain regulatory documentation, correspondence tracking, metrics dashboards, and stakeholder communications with business units, executives, partners, and agencies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related environmental discipline.
• 10–15+ years of progressive experience in environmental planning, permitting, and program management.
• Experience managing environmental compliance and permitting for large-scale industrial construction projects, such as data centers, power generation, or energy infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience with Phase I ESAs, wetland assessments, water rights, biological and species screenings, and cultural resource reviews.
• Deep knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations, especially stormwater, waste, and ecological resource permitting.
• Ability to collaborate with business development, real estate, project finance, engineering, construction, and legal stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with hyperscale cloud campuses or utility-scale power generation projects.
• Experience with corporate environmental due diligence, liability evaluation, M&A, and real estate transaction negotiations.
• Certified Environmental Professional, Professional Engineer, or Project Management Professional credentials.
• Experience leading projects in rapidly expanding, highly matrixed organizations.
