TL;DR
Safety Engineer (Electrical Safety): Ensuring the safety of modular integrated electronics buildings and power distribution equipment from design through field deployment with an accent on electrical, machine, and process safety. Focus on hazard identification, risk assessments, safety documentation, code compliance, and integrating safety requirements across engineering and manufacturing.

Location: Denver, Colorado, United States; on-site

Salary: $115,000–$150,000 per year, plus Restricted Stock Units

What you will do

  • Represent safety on design teams by reviewing models, drawings, and specifications for modular buildings and power distribution equipment.
  • Own technical safety programs covering electrical safety, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and machine safety.
  • Conduct hazard identification, risk assessments, FMEA, FTA, and failure mode analysis for products, equipment, and facility systems.
  • Develop safety cases, hazard logs, compliance reports, and other technical safety documentation.
  • Ensure designs and facilities comply with OSHA, NFPA 70E, IEC, UL, and applicable engineering standards.
  • Collaborate with design, manufacturing, quality, and operations teams, and support site assessments, inspections, and safety reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical system safety, engineering principles, and applicable safety regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to apply a first-principles approach to safety-related engineering problems.
  • Participation in a required drug and alcohol program; the role is safety-sensitive and/or located in a safety-sensitive facility.

Nice to have

  • Experience with functional safety standards such as IEC 61508, ISO 26262, or IEC 60204.
  • Experience with Process Safety Management programs.
  • Experience with data centers, power distribution equipment, or complex electrical systems.
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) license.
