What you will do
- Develop and maintain EHS programs, procedures, safety requirements, and safe work practices for manufacturing, testing, commissioning, service, and field operations.
- Conduct hazard assessments, job safety analyses, risk assessments, safety reviews, site inspections, audits, and compliance assessments.
- Provide technical guidance on high-voltage and energized electrical work, high-power test systems, electrical safety, and lockout/tagout.
- Investigate incidents and near misses, perform root-cause analysis, and drive corrective and preventive actions through completion.
- Evaluate hazards related to large and heavy equipment, lifting, material handling, ergonomics, chemicals, machinery, workstations, loading docks, and industrial vehicles.
- Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Facilities, contractors, and contract manufacturers to integrate safety into equipment, processes, products, and operational changes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 8+ years of related industrial, manufacturing, or engineering safety experience, or 6+ years with a Master’s degree.
- Experience in manufacturing, assembly, testing, or industrial environments, including electrical and high-voltage safety and energized work.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, lockout/tagout, machine safety, contractor safety, hazard assessments, incident investigations, and root-cause analysis.
- Experience with large or heavy equipment, lifting and material handling, workstation safety, ergonomics, machine guarding, and chemical management.
- Strong analytical, communication, influencing, organizational, problem-solving, and project-management skills.
Nice to have
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or equivalent certification.
- OSHA-related training or certifications for manufacturing and industrial environments.
- Experience with power electronics, inverter systems, high-power electrical equipment, contract manufacturers, factory commissioning, production lines, or manufacturing ramp-up.
- Experience supporting field commissioning and service of electrical or industrial equipment.
