Legal Counsel (Digital Assets)

Location: United States; remote work with mandatory in-person onboarding for all new hires.

hirify.global is building a digital asset platform for institutions to participate in crypto.

What you will do

• Provide strategic legal guidance throughout product discovery and launch for institutional trading solutions.
• Research regulatory requirements and ensure compliance across crypto trading venues, prime brokers, custodians, and payment rails.
• Structure, draft, review, and negotiate electronic trading, derivatives, financing, lending, prime brokerage, collateral, margin, settlement, ISDA, confirmation, disclosure, and risk-factor agreements.
• Develop and manage contract templates, policies, procedures, compliance playbooks, and staff training with Compliance.
• Partner with business heads, Legal, Compliance, and cross-functional teams while managing external counsel and multiple medium-to-large projects.
• Advise executive leadership and internal stakeholders on regulatory frameworks, reputational risks, and ongoing compliance obligations.

Requirements

• 8+ years of transactional experience reviewing financial transaction agreements, primarily lending agreements, prime brokerage agreements, ISDA/CSA, and trade confirmations.
• Strong understanding of laws and regulations applicable to spot, margin, derivatives, platform trading, and prime brokerage for digital assets.
• Strong understanding of market infrastructure, including crypto trading venues, prime brokers, custodians, and payment rails.
• Ability to apply traditional financial legal concepts to digital asset business models and institutional clients' complex business needs.
• Ability to draft and negotiate a wide range of digital asset trading and financial agreements.
• Strong communication skills, including client-facing communication and the ability to explain legal issues to internal stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently, lead medium-to-large projects, prioritize work according to company goals, and communicate the rationale behind decisions.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and able to produce quality work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Experience working in a fast-paced startup or early-stage company; a self-starter with a positive attitude and willingness to take on varied tasks.
• Ability to think creatively and propose commercial, pragmatic solutions.
