Deputy General Counsel (Fintech)

What you will do

• Deputize for the Chief Legal Officer in interactions with the Board, executive leadership, and regulators.
• Lead legal analysis for stablecoin issuance, blockchain network operations, and digital asset custody.
• Negotiate the company's most complex commercial agreements, including issuance-as-a-service and enterprise contracts.
• Oversee corporate governance, venture financing rounds, and subsidiary management across multiple entities.
• Manage the litigation portfolio, regulatory enforcement, and risk reporting frameworks.
• Direct the in-house legal team and manage external counsel relationships and fee arrangements.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) from a top-tier ABA-accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 10+ years of legal experience combining top-tier law firm and in-house roles in fintech or digital assets.
• Deep expertise in U.S. financial services regulation, including BSA/AML and stablecoin regimes.
• Proven experience in sophisticated commercial contract drafting and negotiation.
• Strong capacity to lead independent workstreams and manage a scaling legal team.

• Direct regulatory licensing experience at international, federal, or state levels.
• Experience with Securities, CFTC, or commodities regulatory analysis.
• Substantive experience managing complex commercial litigation or arbitration.
• Intellectual property strategy and trademark portfolio management experience.
