Salary: $22–$24 per hour based on relevant experience

New Ground is a nonprofit community organization providing social work, education, housing support, and permanent supportive housing for Long Island families, veterans, and individuals experiencing homelessness.
What you will do
- Accompany Social Workers on home visits and assess areas requiring life skills development.
- Conduct ongoing home visits to identify resident needs and establish life skills goals.
- Provide hands-on coaching in independent living, including grocery shopping, budgeting, meal planning, and meal preparation.
- Teach home organization, cleanliness, safety, household management, scheduling, mail management, and daily responsibility skills.
- Help residents navigate transportation for employment, appointments, and community activities.
- Document client progress, maintain confidentiality, and collaborate with the Social Work and onsite program services teams.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience in human services, coaching, or a related field required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust with diverse populations.
- Reliable, organized, and comfortable working independently in offsite and out-of-office locations.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
