Field Service Engineer (X-ray CT Scanners)

Location: San Francisco, CA, United States; frequent travel to customer sites, approximately 75%.

Salary: $75,000–$95,000 per year, plus equity compensation.

What you will do

• Commission and calibrate hirify.global scanners.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs at customer sites.
• Maintain the in-house scanner fleet when not traveling.
• Troubleshoot, tune, and calibrate production systems with engineering teams.
• Refine standard operating procedures to improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Create and maintain training materials and safety guidelines.

Requirements

• Experience working with computer, electrical, and mechanical systems, including sensors and actuators.
• Comfort using common hand tools such as drills and torque wrenches.
• Ability to follow written procedures, identify deviations, and investigate root causes.
• Strong verbal communication for coordinating technical issues with remote support teams.
• Strong written communication skills for service reports.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and interact professionally with customers and suppliers.

Nice to have

• IT skills and Linux proficiency.
• Hands-on prototype integration and troubleshooting, including soldering, crimping, and testing.
• Experience in customer-facing technical environments.
