Senior Radiation Test Engineer

Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States; primarily out of the Cambridge office. Travel for testing and other efforts is required, expected to be less than 25% annually.

Salary: $95,000–$245,000 base salary per year.

What you will do

• Define, plan, prepare, execute, and report radiation integration and test activities.
• Test components and hardware in space and strategic radiation environments, including X-rays, gamma rays, heavy ions, protons, and thermal or fast neutrons.
• Derive system-level integration and test requirements from mission requirements and develop detailed test procedures.
• Lead test teams and support programs in evaluating, refining, and validating hardware designs.
• Identify system-level technical risks and develop and execute mitigation strategies.
• Develop and teach integration and test best practices to less experienced engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, computer, or systems engineering, applied physics, or a related field.
• 7–10 years of experience in systems engineering or a relevant role.
• Experience with radiation effects testing, test instrumentation, field testing, and analog or digital devices.
• Experience defining and executing tests, leading test teams, and developing hardware control software.
• Ability to work primarily from the hirify.global Cambridge, Massachusetts office and travel for testing.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
