Senior Industrial Hygiene Technician/Project Manager

Location: New York, NY / Florham Park, NJ; Workplace: Hybrid

Salary: $55–$75 per hour, commensurate with experience and advanced certifications.

What you will do

• Lead complex, high-risk field assignments involving asbestos, lead, mold, noise, chemical air sampling, and other industrial hygiene assessments.
• Serve as lead site technician and client/contractor liaison on large-scale and multi-phase projects.
• Conduct site investigations, risk assessments, and final clearance inspections with minimal oversight.
• Review field data, photographs, and chain-of-custody documentation for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare technical field reports, data summaries, and regulatory compliance documents.
• Mentor junior and mid-level technicians and maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot industrial hygiene monitoring equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in industrial hygiene, environmental science, safety, or a related field is strongly preferred.
• At least 7 years of experience in asbestos, lead paint, mold, and general industrial hygiene field monitoring and inspections.
• NYSDOL Asbestos Project Monitor and Air Sampling Technician, NYSDOL Mold Assessor, NJ/EPA/NY Lead Risk Assessor/Inspector, and NYCDEP Asbestos Investigator certifications are mandatory.
• Expert knowledge of OSHA, EPA, NYCDEP, NYSDOL, and other federal, state, and local industrial hygiene and EHS regulations.
• Availability for off-hours and extended shifts; ability to pass a physical exam and be medically cleared to wear a negative-pressure respirator.
• Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, pre-employment drug test, and participation in DOT-regulated random drug and alcohol testing are required.

Nice to have

• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
• Asbestos Project Designer or Supervisor accreditation.
• General health and safety oversight or construction safety management experience.
• Progress toward CIH or CSP certification.
