What you will do

  • Coordinate initial and recredentialing applications by collecting required documentation and following up with applicants and affiliated healthcare organizations.
  • Contact primary sources by phone, fax, mail, and internet to complete background verifications.
  • Prepare verification documentation and reference summaries for completed credentialing files.
  • Support reappointment scheduling, file audits, privilege-form drafting, and physician database updates.
  • Assist with onboarding and training new team members and participate in credentialing process improvements.
  • Maintain confidentiality, track errors and complaints, and meet processing time thresholds with minimal errors.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work remotely from the United States.
  • Two years of post-high-school education, training, or equivalent experience.
  • At least one year of experience in a healthcare environment, including knowledge of hospitals, physician practices, or managed care organizations.
  • Knowledge of NCQA, The Joint Commission, NPDB guidelines, hospital policies, procedures, and licensing regulations.
  • Experience with database organization and management, report generation, Windows-based word processing, and personal computers.
  • Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and multitasking skills; ability to work independently and within a team.

Nice to have

  • Associate degree in health administration or a related field.
  • Current CPCS and/or CPMSM eligibility through the National Association Medical Staff Services.
