TL;DR
Senior Looker Developer, Data (Looker/LookML): Designing and governing an enterprise LookML semantic layer and reusable Looker data products for internal stakeholders and 600+ clients with an accent on scalable modeling, performance, and conversational analytics. Focus on building routing-ready metadata for AI-driven queries, tuning aggregate layers and query performance, and mentoring junior developers through reviews and pairing.

What you will do
- Own and evolve the enterprise LookML semantic layer supporting analytics across a 1,000+ person organization and more than 600 clients.
- Build scalable, performant LookML models and reusable Looker data products for internal and client-facing analytics.
- Translate ambiguous stakeholder and client needs into durable technical implementations, visualizations, and self-service analytics experiences.
- Partner with Analytics Engineering on aggregate-layer tuning, query optimization, and LookML deployment across multiple Looker instances.
- Maintain the LookML style guide, naming conventions, and metric-definition source of truth.
- Support self-service analytics, apply AI technologies to improve team efficiency, and mentor junior developers and analysts.
Requirements
- 4+ years owning the full lifecycle of production-grade LookML models and data products.
- Advanced SQL skills with modern cloud data warehouses; Snowflake and BigQuery are preferred.
- Strong knowledge of dimensional modeling and data warehousing fundamentals.
- Experience with agency and performance marketing analytics, including multi-client work across eCommerce and B2B contexts.
- Experience governing LookML across multiple Looker instances, working in multi-tenant environments, and using Git-based version control and CI/CD workflows.
- Advanced spoken and written English; strong communication and presentation skills with engineers and executives.
Nice to have
- Experience routing LLM queries to the appropriate model or Explore.
- Experience with Conversational Analytics or comparable natural-language BI tools.
- Experience with Claude Code or similar agentic coding tools.
- dbt or equivalent analytics engineering experience.
