Staff Instrumentation and Controls Engineer, Deployment (AI Infrastructure)

Location: Dallas, TX, United States (Remote)

Salary: $148,000–$170,000 annually plus bonus and Restricted Stock Units

What you will do

• Lead field deployment, integration, startup, and operational handover of BMS, EPMS, PLC, and SCADA automation systems for hyperscale data centers.
• Standardize controls deployment frameworks and implementation patterns across multiple projects and sites.
• Configure SCADA dashboards, HMIs, and operator workstations for building, cooling, and electrical systems.
• Oversee system integrators, point-to-point checkouts, commissioning, escalation resolution, and troubleshooting of automation and network integration issues.
• Integrate and troubleshoot BACnet, Modbus, OPC-UA, and MQTT networks with field devices and control platforms.
• Conduct simulation, Factory Acceptance Testing, Site Acceptance Testing, system validation, data verification, and engineer training.

Requirements

• Extensive professional experience deploying, integrating, and starting up PLC, SCADA, BMS, and EPMS platforms.
• Experience executing automation systems in data centers or other mission-critical, high-availability environments.
• Hands-on proficiency with BACnet, Modbus, OPC-UA, and MQTT protocols.
• Practical knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical systems, PLC/DDC logic, and industrial automation equipment.
• Experience translating engineering designs into physical installations and leading deployment in fast-paced construction environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a relevant engineering or technical field.
• Professional certifications in PLC or SCADA platforms, especially Ignition or Rockwell.
• Experience applying industrial cybersecurity best practices.
• Interest in using automation to improve energy efficiency and sustainability.
