What you will do

• Serve as the primary technical authority for controls, SCADA, and industrial networking throughout the full project lifecycle.
• Design and deploy Energy Management Systems (EMS), PLCs, HMIs, and other ICS/OT components for BESS and utility-scale power plants.
• Develop controls architecture, narratives, and integration strategies for BESS functionality.
• Create controls specifications, points lists, and OPC mappings to support remote monitoring and data integration.
• Define and execute FAT and SAT strategies in collaboration with network and deployment teams.
• Coordinate with external engineering firms and internal cross-functional teams to ensure on-time, contract-compliant delivery.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience designing and supporting Controls, Communications, Network, and SCADA systems in power utilities (BESS, PV, or hybrid systems).
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• Expertise in PLC and HMI development and commissioning for utility-scale power applications.
• Deep knowledge of industrial protocols: IEC 60870, IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus, OPC UA, and MQTT.
• Strong understanding of industrial networking (TCP/IP, Cisco) and OT cybersecurity principles.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with the Ignition SCADA / IIoT platform.
• Familiarity with virtualization and containerization (VMware, Proxmox, Docker).
• Basic knowledge of Linux system administration.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% for project execution and commissioning.
