Principal Hardware Instrument Engineer (Electronics)

Salary: $95,000–$245,000 base salary per year

What you will do

• Design electronics products and develop technical specifications for production.
• Develop advanced architectures and designs for complex sensors, actuators, and other electronics systems.
• Analyze hardware configurations, processing solutions, and conformance to specifications.
• Define requirements and develop solutions when customer requirements are unclear or incomplete.
• Identify system-level technical risks and execute mitigation strategies.
• Lead multidisciplinary activities, support proposals and sponsors, and communicate progress to project leadership and customers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Proficiency with schematic capture and printed circuit board layout.
• Experience with circuit simulation using SPICE or comparable tools, and system modeling with MATLAB, Simulink, or similar tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, planning, communication, and time-management skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
• Experience developing and teaching engineering best practices to less experienced teammates.
