Senior IT & Security Operations Engineer (Robotics)

What you will do

• Own the lifecycle of macOS and Linux endpoints through JumpCloud MDM, including enrollment, configuration, application deployment, patching, compliance, and golden configurations.
• Operate and maintain office and lab networks, including switches, firewalls, Wi-Fi, VLANs, and VPNs, with troubleshooting from layer 1 through layer 7.
• Administer CrowdStrike Falcon endpoint detection and response, including sensor deployment, prevention and detection policies, detection tuning, and initial incident response.
• Translate SOC 2 and ISO 27001 requirements into operational IT controls, automate evidence collection, and support audits and access reviews with Security and Legal.
• Resolve complex IT incidents, document solutions as runbooks, and automate recurring root causes as the senior technical escalation point.

Requirements

• 5+ years of IT engineering experience, including senior individual-contributor experience on a small IT team in a fast-paced startup.
• Deep Linux knowledge and equivalent experience administering macOS at scale, including system internals, networking, package management, SSO integration, and diagnostics.
• Production experience administering and scaling a modern MDM platform, ideally JumpCloud.
• Hands-on networking experience with professional equipment such as Sophos, Ubiquiti, or Fortinet, including switches, firewalls, Wi-Fi, VPN, and packet-level troubleshooting.
• Administration experience with Google Workspace, GitHub, AWS, and Jira Cloud, plus SSO/SAML/OIDC, SCIM provisioning, and IAM fundamentals.
• Experience with CrowdStrike Falcon or a comparable EDR/XDR platform and practical support for SOC 2 and/or ISO 27001.

Nice to have

• Scripting proficiency in Python, Bash, or a similar language for IT and identity automation.
• Experience building or maturing a JumpCloud deployment from the ground up.
• Experience supporting robotics, hardware, or laboratory environments.
• On-call or incident-response experience in a security-conscious environment.
• Vendor management and procurement experience for IT and security tools.
