Telecommunications Technician - DoD

Location: Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, Colorado, USA; onsite only. Remote or telework is not available. Shift work is required for 24/7 operations, including nights, weekends, and holidays on a modified Panama schedule. No relocation assistance is available.

Salary: $75,000–$85,000 annually, depending on experience, education, and directly related certifications.

What you will do

• Monitor, install, maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot telecommunications networks, switching equipment, workstations, servers, and end-user peripherals.
• Install and maintain secure communications and cryptographic equipment, including KIV-7M and KG-175 systems.
• Respond to user support requests, perform diagnostics and corrective actions, and train users on network and equipment operation.
• Maintain ticketing records, daily logs, equipment inventories, system documentation, and operating procedures.
• Support hardware and software procurement, replacement, warranty claims, and the selection of new network equipment.
• Provide technical support, administrative assistance, and internal on-site and off-site travel within the complex.

Requirements

• Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is required.
• At least 6 months of directly related experience and 1 year of general work experience.
• IAT Level II certification is required: CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, or SSCP.
• Availability for any shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays, is required.
• Ability to support secure telecommunications networks, cryptographic equipment, and end-user peripherals.

Nice to have

• Digital Switching Systems 2A certification.
• Telecommunications Secure Voice Switched Network management or maintenance experience.
• COMSEC, Secure Voice Responsible Officer, or Telecommunications Control Officer experience.
• Experience with commercial PBX and telephone switches, conferencing, technical presentations, and personnel training.
