Staff Project Manager - Federal (Robotics): Leading multi-project portfolios and robot deployment programs for U.S. government projects with an accent on strategic execution, cross-functional coordination, risk management, and performance reporting. Location: Fully onsite at the headquarters in Irvine, California, United States

Salary: $130,000–$200,000 per year, plus benefits and equity

What you will do

  • Drive strategic execution across multi-project portfolios, defining milestones, managing budgets, and coordinating resources.
  • Align engineering, field operations, product, business, and customer success stakeholders around scope, dependencies, risks, and timelines.
  • Coordinate go-to-market readiness for robot deployment programs, including performance, safety, and scalability requirements.
  • Track program metrics, financials, ROI, and delivery status; escalate risks and report to leadership and investors.
  • Prepare executive updates, board materials, and investor presentations.
  • Identify and resolve technical, operational, and commercial blockers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related technical field.
  • At least six years of experience in project management, program support, or operations within a technical organization.
  • Ability to translate high-level requirements into structured task breakdowns and timelines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including coordination across engineering teams.
  • Proficiency with project tracking tools such as Jira, Asana, Monday, or equivalent.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required security clearance or export control authorization; U.S. Person eligibility is required for federal programs.

Nice to have

  • Experience with robotics, autonomy, aerospace, defense, rugged ground autonomy, or DoD programs.
  • Familiarity with SBIR, statements of work, deliverable-based contracts, ITAR, or EAR compliance.
  • Experience defining acceptance criteria and milestone definitions with technical leads.
  • Startup experience, a technical master’s degree, or PMP certification.
  • Experience working with stakeholders from the U.S. Army, USSOCOM, DARPA, or other DoD organizations.
