International Shipping Manager - Commercial Programs (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Lead international shipping for direct commercial sales, foreign military sales, and global defense customers.
• Develop shipping strategies, schedules, and delivery plans across multiple concurrent programs.
• Coordinate with Sales, Business Development, Program Management, Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality, Contracts, Compliance, Finance, and Customer Service.
• Manage freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and third-party logistics providers.
• Prepare and review commercial invoices, packing lists, EEI filings, certificates of origin, bills of lading, dangerous goods documents, and import/export licenses.
• Monitor logistics performance, resolve customs and delivery issues, and lead cost and process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, International Trade, or a related field.
• 7–10+ years of experience in international shipping, global logistics, or supply chain management.
• 3–5+ years of leadership or management experience.
• Experience supporting direct commercial sales in a manufacturing environment and managing multiple programs simultaneously.
• Strong knowledge of international freight transportation, customs regulations, Incoterms, export documentation, import/export processes, and freight forwarding.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics, plus strong analytical, organizational, communication, and project management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace and defense manufacturing.
• Knowledge of ITAR, EAR, DFARS, Foreign Military Sales, and defense export licensing.
• APICS, CSCMP, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma certification.
• Experience with government and commercial customers, transportation management systems, or export compliance software.
