Imports and Exports Specialist

Location: Elkridge, Maryland, United States; external applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the USA.

Salary: $65,000–$75,000 annually.

What you will do

• Track international shipments from order placement through yard receipt, maintain accurate ETAs in PSD, and escalate delays, shortages, and discrepancies.
• Coordinate customs clearance documentation with brokers and freight forwarders, verifying commercial invoices, HTS classification, country of origin, and valuation.
• Maintain audit-ready records in compliance with U.S. customs regulations and hirify.global policies.
• Coordinate container bookings, receipts, and documentation between hirify.global USA yards, the German counterpart team, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and third-party suppliers.
• Monitor material availability, identify potential service interruptions and backorders, and communicate material needs to logistics teams.
• Model tariff and other cost or price impacts in Excel, support pricing decisions, and track orders and shipments in PSD.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of exhirify.globalence in import/export operations or international logistics.
• Knowledge of material management software systems; PSD or another ERP is preferred.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to communicate clearly with individuals at all levels.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, proofreading, and record-maintenance skills.
• Strategic thinking, including anticipating scenarios, setting objectives, developing plans, and considering broader decision impacts.
• Effective time management, prioritization, deadline management, and sense of urgency.
• Resilience and ability to adapt to adversity, challenges, or stress.
