Robotics Test Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Hybrid, based in the NYC office in Chelsea; onsite 3 days per week. Approximately 10% international travel to contract manufacturer and supplier sites is required.

Salary: $140,000–$170,000 annually, plus discretionary annual bonus and equity grant.

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end reliability and manufacturing test program through new product introduction and mass production.
• Define test scopes, equipment requirements, sampling rates, pass/fail criteria, protocols, specifications, and standard operating procedures.
• Maintain and develop the HQ reliability lab, commission equipment and fixtures, and plan environmental and life testing.
• Deploy tests, scripts, fixtures, and test software at contract manufacturers and key suppliers.
• Lead failure analysis, root-cause investigations, and corrective actions across mechanical, electrical, and software interfaces.
• Analyze test data and report findings to Engineering and Operations for design and production decisions.

Requirements

• BS in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Test, or a related engineering discipline, with at least 5 years of reliability and test engineering experience in a hardware product environment.
• Strong Python or equivalent programming skills for test automation, data parsing, analysis, and production-quality test scripts.
• Hands-on experience with reliability test equipment, life rigs, data acquisition systems, oscilloscopes, electrical loads, and test fixtures.
• Knowledge of statistical analysis, including control limits, capability studies, Gauge R&R, DOE, hypothesis testing, AQL sampling, Weibull analysis, and accelerated-life models.
• Experience working with contract manufacturers and suppliers to implement and manage tests, fixtures, and factory-floor test software.
• Ability to work in the NYC office 3 days per week and travel internationally approximately 10% of the time.

Nice to have

• Experience with SolidWorks or an equivalent CAD tool for fixture and test-rig design reviews.
• Proficiency in LabVIEW, preferably CLAD level or higher.
• Working knowledge of MIL-STD-810, IEC 60068, IPC, HALT, and HASS reliability standards.
