What you will do
- Define, build, and support virtual testing environments for autonomous trucks using data replay and simulated driving scenarios.
- Set technical direction and make architecture decisions for simulation-based testing infrastructure.
- Develop test scenarios, execute simulation and replay-based test plans, and analyze test event logs.
- Guide the adoption of simulation tools, support virtual driver testing, and identify requirements for new testing infrastructure and sensor simulations.
- Coordinate simulation priorities across verification, model delivery, and autonomy teams while reporting technical risks to product and quality management.
- Mentor engineers, including senior individual contributors, and improve simulation-based testing practices.
Requirements
- Required experience: 10+ years with a bachelor's degree, 7+ years with a master's degree, or 5+ years with a PhD in a relevant technical field.
- Deep understanding of simulation-based testing, including recompute simulation, and strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle.
- Extensive experience developing test scenarios and debugging complex software issues.
- Experience with Software-in-the-Loop and Hardware-in-the-Loop simulation and testing.
- Ability to lead virtual testing events, troubleshoot the complete software stack, and resolve technical risks.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring and developing engineers.
Nice to have
- Programming experience with C++ and Python.
- Experience with ROS, test-driven development, and test framework architectures.
- Knowledge of system-level troubleshooting, fault isolation, Kanban, Scrum, or Scaled Agile development.
- Experience leading multiple simulation or verification and validation initiatives.
