Senior Avionics Systems and Flight Test Engineer

Location: Onsite in Mineral Wells, Texas, United States. Monday–Thursday, 10-hour shifts; domestic and international travel may exceed 30%.

Salary: $100,000–$130,000 annually.

What you will do

• Design, develop, implement, and analyze complete aircraft avionics systems and architectures.
• Review customer requirements, assess project feasibility, and provide technical interfaces to customers and engineering teams.
• Perform system and software integration, develop testing applications, and support formal avionics tests.
• Lead OASIS and EICAS configuration development based on customer, FAA, human factors, and certification requirements.
• Support system modeling, performance analysis, flight testing, and TSO and STC certification projects.
• Guide lower-level engineers and lead project engineering teams across avionics, flight control software, and systems engineering programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in systems, software, electrical, computer, mechanical, aerospace engineering, or a related engineering discipline; a master’s degree is ideal.
• At least five years of related avionics and technical professional experience.
• Knowledge of avionics design and development processes, software tools, and engineering practices.
• Knowledge of FAA and other avionics certification processes, including system safety analysis.
• Expertise in product requirements and relevant requirements management tools.
• Ability to perform engineering work during aircraft flight testing and travel domestically and internationally, sometimes more than 30%.
