Software Engineer II (C#/.NET)

Location: Toronto, Canada; hybrid remote working environment

Salary: CAD $92,081–$142,081 annually, plus discretionary bonus and stock options

What you will do

• Develop and maintain Kobo’s e-commerce web experience.
• Work across front-end, back-end, CI/CD, and infrastructure.
• Gather requirements, design solutions, implement features, and perform testing.
• Deploy and monitor code in production and take responsibility for real-customer outcomes.
• Collaborate and deliver high-quality software in a fast-paced agile environment.

Requirements

• Strong technical knowledge, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with C#, ASP.NET MVC, WebAPI, and RESTful services.
• Proficiency with MSSQL and NoSQL databases such as RavenDB.
• Experience with service bus technologies such as NServiceBus or RabbitMQ.
• Working knowledge of modern JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS frameworks.
• Experience with Git, GitHub, or Azure DevOps; CI/CD; and unit, integration, and UI testing strategies.

Nice to have

• Experience with React, NextJS, or Remix.
• Familiarity with Docker, Solr, or Kubernetes.
• Test automation using NUnit, Selenium WebDriver, or Playwright.
• Knowledge of Ruby, other scripting languages, the purchasing domain, or Agile environments.
