Senior Fullstack Engineer (React/GraphQL)

Location: Remote in Canada

Salary: $135,000–$180,000 CAD per year

What you will do

• Design and evolve federated GraphQL schemas and server-driven UI contracts shared by iOS, Android, and web clients.
• Develop, scale, and optimize GraphQL APIs, RPC endpoints, SQL queries, and TypeScript services.
• Build fast, accessible web applications and shared component libraries with React and TypeScript.
• Improve platform performance, reliability, observability, monitoring, and alerting with Datadog.
• Partner with product and design teams to architect and deliver customer-facing features.
• Mentor teammates, improve code quality, and contribute to architecture, testing, CI/CD, and agile delivery.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of software engineering experience.
• Strong JavaScript, TypeScript, React, HTML, CSS, and browser-platform knowledge.
• At least 2 years of experience designing and evolving GraphQL schemas for multi-client product surfaces.
• Experience with production systems at scale, distributed systems, algorithms, performance debugging, tracing, load testing, and on-call rotations.
• Experience developing APIs with Node, Bun, or another server framework, plus Kubernetes and containerized services.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as Jest, Vitest, ExUnit, RSpec, or pytest, as well as Git and GitHub.

Nice to have

• Apollo Federation, Absinthe, Swift or Kotlin mobile development, hexagonal architecture, or domain-driven design.
• PostgreSQL or MySQL, background job processing, asynchronous event infrastructure, open-source contributions, startup experience, or sports and esports interest.
