Substance Abuse Counselor (Part-Time)

Salary: $30.00–$36.00 per hour, plus quarterly bonuses

What you will do

• Provide individual and group counseling for patients recovering from drug and alcohol disorders.
• Guide new and returning patients through intake and orientation.
• Build trusting, inclusive relationships and connect patients with community resources.
• Develop, update, and maintain individualized treatment plans and accurate patient records.
• Assess patients’ social, educational, economic, and vocational needs.
• Respond to crisis situations and complete required documentation while following applicable regulations.

Requirements

• Must meet state-level requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher required.
• One of the following credentials required: CADC, IADC, LPC, LMSW, or LMFT.
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive issues with sound judgment.
• Ability to work with patients and colleagues in stressful situations and seek supervisory direction when needed.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment involving prolonged standing, bending, keyboarding, and potential exposure to infectious diseases and bloodborne pathogens.

Nice to have

• Experience in behavioral health.
• Knowledge of substance abuse populations, treatment planning, human behavior, and social services.
