Senior AI Engineer (AI)

Location: Brooklyn, NY; hybrid with 3 days per week in the office, including Mondays and 2 flexible days.

Salary: $175,000–$225,000 base salary plus meaningful equity.

What you will do

• Build AI agents that conduct intelligent conversations with candidates and recruiters.
• Create and ship AI-powered features including voice interfaces, coaching systems, and intelligent matching.
• Experiment with current models and techniques while balancing cost, quality, latency, and speed.
• Write production TypeScript code that turns AI capabilities into reliable user experiences.
• Prototype new AI capabilities and scale successful solutions to thousands of users.
• Collaborate with full-stack engineers to integrate AI features across the platform and identify opportunities to improve recruiting.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience building and deploying AI or LLM features to production with real users.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript, React, and Next.js, with the ability to contribute across the stack.
• Deep understanding of prompt engineering and reliable LLM behavior.
• Experience moving from AI experimentation and research to scaled production implementation.
• Product mindset with the ability to make trade-offs between model cost, latency, quality, and use case.
• Experience taking ownership of problems end-to-end in a fast-moving startup environment.

Nice to have

• Voice AI or conversational interface experience.
• Python knowledge for AI/ML tooling.
• Experience with Temporal.io workflows.
• Background in consumer-facing applications.
• Experience with agentic systems and AI orchestration.
