Agent Engineer (AI)

Location: SF Bay Area; on-site

Salary: $180,000–$500,000 annually, plus equity

What you will do

• Build AI agents that generate high-quality user interfaces, client-side features, and product experiences.
• Develop workflows for planning, reasoning, tool use, and multi-step execution.
• Create systems that autonomously generate, test, verify, and improve code and interfaces.
• Build validation, monitoring, and evaluation systems that detect bugs, poor user experiences, and regressions.
• Develop agent memory, feedback loops, learning pipelines, and orchestration across generation, deployment, and improvement.
• Translate feedback from technical and non-technical teams into metrics, evaluations, and product improvements.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience shipping reliable production systems.
• Experience building LLM applications, AI agents, autonomous workflows, or code generation systems.
• Experience with prompting, evaluation, retrieval-augmented generation, tool use, or agent frameworks.
• Experience designing systems for planning, reasoning, multi-step execution, automated testing, and parallel execution.
• Strong web engineering skills, product judgment, and experience integrating agents with browsers, development tools, APIs, or internal platforms.
• Ability to design reliable systems around nondeterministic model behavior and turn qualitative feedback into measurable improvements.

Nice to have

• A track record of exploring new approaches to code generation and agent development beyond standard tools and frameworks.
• Curiosity and pragmatism when working on problems without an established playbook.
