AV Engineer

Location: San Francisco, CA; full-time onsite presence in the San Francisco office five days per week. Remote support for other offices and occasional travel are required.

Salary: $144,000–$198,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Own preventative maintenance, daily room sweeps, break/fix support, and lifecycle planning for conference rooms, phone booths, shared AV, displays, and workplace media systems.
• Diagnose and repair AV hardware, cabling, mounts, controllers, schedulers, provisioning issues, and network-dependent room problems; provide remote resolution through Zoom Admin Portal and Logitech Sync.
• Plan and track device update waves and compliance for schedulers, iPads, Mac Mini codecs, and Logitech CollabOS devices.
• Manage digital signage content pipelines, templates, office background music, common-area displays, and spares inventory.
• Maintain room records, as-built notes, SOPs, runbooks, and user training for Zoom Rooms, UCI panels, wireless microphones, podium inputs, and event spaces.
• Support live events across offices and partner with senior AV engineers on DSP, Q-SYS, Dante, RF, and complex-room work.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience supporting AV, IT, or workplace technology.
• Hands-on experience with video conferencing room systems; Zoom Rooms are strongly preferred, together with Logitech Rally, Tap, Sync, or equivalent systems.
• Practical troubleshooting experience with displays, mounts, cabling, HDMI, and USB signal flow, using a documented methodology rather than trial and error.
• Working knowledge of IP, VLANs, PoE, DHCP, and AV device dependencies on network infrastructure.
• Ticket-driven support experience and clear written documentation habits.
• Service-oriented support skills suitable for visible employee and leadership meeting spaces and live events.
• Physical ability to work on ladders, lift equipment, and access ceilings and racks.

Nice to have

• Digital signage platform experience.
• Familiarity with commercial audio, passive speaker systems, amplifiers, and operational DSP concepts.
• Exposure to Q-SYS, Shure, or Dante environments.
• MDM familiarity for Apple devices.
• Live event or production support experience.
