Staff Software Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Dublin, Ireland; hybrid. Candidates must be permitted to work in Ireland, including under EU work authorization, without employer sponsorship.

What you will do

• Provide technical expertise and design input for the Trade Order Management solution.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements and design reviews through implementation, testing, deployment, and support.
• Build, enhance, and maintain scalable cloud-native applications using AWS and modern backend technologies.
• Troubleshoot production issues, investigate root causes, resolve incidents, and improve reliability and supportability for critical trading workflows.
• Collaborate with product, design, strategy, engineering, and support teams.
• Coach and mentor fellow engineers while contributing to secure, high-performing enterprise applications.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience designing, building, and supporting production applications.
• 6+ years of experience with Java or Kotlin, or equivalent experience with a modern backend language.
• Experience with design patterns, OOAD, SOLID principles, automated unit testing, and cloud-native application development, preferably with AWS.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues, analyze root causes, and drive resolution while maintaining a longer-term architectural perspective.
• Knowledge of React, JavaScript, and TypeScript, plus strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with buy-side order management systems.
• Knowledge of complex financial instruments and valuations.
• Background in mathematics.
• Experience with FIX and/or SWIFT protocols.
