What you will do

• Own data-heavy features from design through production while planning for increasing traffic and data volume.
• Improve relational data models, pipelines, migrations, and multi-tenant systems.
• Develop backend services in a TypeScript monorepo using Hono, Drizzle, Postgres, and AWS infrastructure.
• Build and maintain serverless and event-driven workflows with Lambda, SQS, EventBridge, and S3.
• Monitor production systems, investigate incidents, and resolve root causes.
• Make pragmatic technical decisions and help shape AI-native engineering practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building, scaling, and operating production software.
• Strong backend engineering skills in a typed language.
• Experience with relational data modeling, migrations, and production data systems.
• Experience integrating third-party or public APIs, including AI APIs such as OpenAI or Anthropic Claude.
• Hands-on experience using AI coding tools and reviewing their output.
• Clear written communication, product sense, and ability to own work end to end.

Nice to have

• Experience with TypeScript, Postgres, serverless AWS, or event-driven systems.
• Experience with Terraform, AWS CDK, or similar infrastructure tools.
• Exposure to React and React Router when backend work crosses into the product.
