Staff Software Engineer, Portfolio Accounting

Location: Reno, Nevada, United States; hybrid. Must be work authorized in the United States without employer sponsorship.

What you will do

• Lead adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices, evaluate AI tooling risks, and establish responsible-use guardrails.
• Design and evolve cloud-native services on AWS while building consensus around architectural decisions.
• Contribute portfolio accounting domain expertise throughout requirements, design, development, and production delivery.
• Build developer automation and drive engineering practices for maintainability, observability, high availability, and performance.
• Represent systems in cross-functional technical discussions and architecture reviews.
• Coach and mentor engineers, participate in hiring, and support talent-building initiatives.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience designing and delivering new products.
• 3+ years of experience in portfolio accounting, reconciliation, market data, or FinTech application development.
• Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or a related discipline.
• Experience building cloud-native applications, preferably on AWS.
• Familiarity with high-availability systems, production on-call practices, performance monitoring, and automated testing.
• Strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and long-term architectural thinking skills.

Nice to have

• CFA Charter.
• Experience with Java, Kotlin, AWS infrastructure, Docker, or containerization.
• Experience with caching strategies, data modeling, and agile development.
• Success leading complex, multi-team technical initiatives.
