Software Engineer, Sensor Platform (Autonomous Driving)

Salary: $132,300–$165,370 base pay per year, plus annual performance bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design and develop sensor and compute systems for autonomous robots.
• Architect and deploy reliable, high-performance sensor and autonomous software.
• Build and maintain device drivers, inter-device protocols, pipelines, and device runtime APIs.
• Deliver reliable software through metrics monitoring, automated testing, and collaboration with hardware vendors.
• Debug complex systems, identify root causes of failure modes, and deploy effective solutions.
• Drive cross-functional sensor and compute projects for autonomous vehicles.

Requirements

• 2+ years of industry experience in robotics or autonomous driving systems.
• Strong experience with embedded and real-time systems and proficiency in C++, including concurrency.
• Understanding of the Linux kernel and its role in driver performance.
• Bachelor’s, master’s, or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Clear communication and effective collaboration with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with robotics hardware, sensors, and embedded platforms containing CPUs, GPUs, ISPs, and accelerators.
• Experience programming peripheral devices and communication protocols such as USB, SPI, I2C, and UART.
• Experience with radar, lidar, or visual cameras.
• GPU programming and low-level driver optimization for NVIDIA GPUs.
• Knowledge of networking and the IP protocol stack, including PHY, TCP, UDP, and application-layer protocols.
