PCB Layout Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Oakland, California, United States; hybrid or fully onsite depending on the role, with onsite work required when needed.

Salary: $170,000–$250,000 USD per year, plus potential equity grants.

What you will do

• Perform floorplan analysis and create board stackups, layouts, and footprints.
• Bring PCB layout in-house and own layout quality and manufacturability.
• Coordinate with mechanical engineering to ensure fit and form compatibility.
• Coordinate with thermal engineering to achieve thermally sound layouts.
• Partner with SI/PI engineering to complete and validate robust board designs.

Requirements

• Strong PCB layout experience with digital and mixed-signal boards.
• Knowledge of stackup technologies, limitations, cost impacts, and lead-time considerations.
• Experience with controlled-impedance and high-speed routing, plus PI/PDN fundamentals.
• Proficiency with a professional layout tool such as Altium or Cadence.
• Comfort coordinating with mechanical, thermal, and SI/PI engineering.
• Ability to work in Oakland, California, with onsite attendance when required.
