Senior Computational Geneticist (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Cambridge, Massachusetts; candidates must live within commuting distance of a hirify.global site and work on-site an average of 2.5 days per week.

Salary: $106,000–$176,600 annual base salary, plus a 15% bonus target and eligibility for a share-based long-term incentive program.

What you will do

• Apply quantitative genetics, genetic epidemiology, and functional genomics to identify therapeutic targets, indications, biomarkers, causal mechanisms, and patient subgroups.
• Analyze and integrate human genetics, clinical, and multi-omics datasets to support target identification, validation, and clinical trial design.
• Partner with AI/ML scientists to develop and critically evaluate AI-enabled approaches for genetics-driven discovery and biological interpretation.
• Collaborate with biologists, statisticians, bioinformaticians, computational biologists, clinicians, and project leaders across Internal Medicine Research.
• Manage internal and external collaborations, project milestones, data delivery, and communication of scientific findings.

Requirements

• PhD in biological or quantitative sciences and postdoctoral experience in genetics, statistical genetics, or genetic epidemiology, plus at least two years of relevant experience.
• Strong statistical, quantitative, epidemiological, and population-based research skills.
• Experience analyzing genetic datasets, integrating additional data types, and managing large projects, collaborations, or consortia.
• Demonstrated use of generative AI tools such as Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini in scientific research or analytical workflows.
• Programming or statistical analysis proficiency in R, Python, Perl, SQL, or comparable languages, with familiarity with genetics platforms.
• Permanent U.S. work authorization is required; U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Nice to have

• Human biology or medicine background and knowledge of metabolic disease pathophysiology.
• Research publications in the genetics of complex traits.
• Experience with metabolomics, lipidomics, transcriptomics, epigenetics, or other omics technologies.
• Scientific leadership experience and the ability to develop innovative analytical concepts.
