Manager, Computational Biology (Oncology)

Location: Must be based in or able to work from the office in Salt Lake City, Utah or New York City, New York (Hybrid: 50% in-office required)

Salary: $151,800–$220,600 per year (depending on location)

What you will do

• Lead and mentor a team of computational biologists and data scientists to foster scientific rigor and professional growth.
• Design and execute analyses for target nomination and validation to identify novel vulnerabilities in cancer biology.
• Develop biomarker strategies and patient-stratification hypotheses for oncology programs.
• Collaborate with platform and engineering teams to scale innovative analysis methods across the organization.
• Maintain a 50% individual contribution load, performing complex data integration to solve critical oncology portfolio questions.
• Present data analysis to internal and external stakeholders to drive investment and program decisions.

Requirements

• PhD in a quantitative field with 5+ years of experience in biotech/pharma OR MS with 7+ years of experience.
• Proven track record of managing and developing direct reports in a technical environment.
• Deep expertise in oncology, including biomarker discovery and patient population stratification.
• Advanced proficiency in Python or R for high-dimensional biological data analysis.
• Experience with data integration of at least two 'omics modalities (phenomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, genomics).
• Must be able to work in the office at least 50% of the time in Salt Lake City or New York City.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with large-scale oncology datasets like TCGA, CCLE, DepMap, or Real-World Data.
• Experience designing high-throughput screens or CRISPR/small-molecule perturbations.
• Exposure to IND-enabling studies or clinical trial biomarker analysis.
