TL;DR
Manufacturing Design Program Manager (AI Hardware): Driving manufacturing readiness for transformer-specific AI systems from design-for-manufacturing reviews through new product introduction and high-volume production with an accent on cross-functional hardware execution, factory readiness, and production ramp. Focus on coordinating EVT, DVT, PVT, and production builds, resolving manufacturing issues, and improving yield, quality, and process capability.

Location: On-site in San Jose, California; willingness to travel internationally to manufacturing partners is required. Relocation support is available for candidates moving to San Jose.

What you will do

  • Drive manufacturing technical readiness across new product introduction and mass production for transformer-specific AI systems.
  • Lead design-for-manufacturing reviews across L6, L10, and L11 assemblies and identify manufacturability risks, integration challenges, and process constraints.
  • Own build readiness, factory execution, process capability, yield, schedules, and manufacturing risks for assigned programs.
  • Coordinate prototype, EVT, DVT, PVT, and production builds with design engineering, test engineering, SMT, FATP, supply chain, and operations.
  • Partner with contract manufacturers and supply chain teams on production plans, tooling, line bring-up, and factory ramp strategies.
  • Drive root-cause analysis, issue resolution, KPI monitoring, continuous improvement, and executive reporting.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of hardware engineering experience with transition into technical, design, or manufacturing program management.
  • Background in mechanical, electrical, systems, or manufacturing engineering and experience leading cross-functional hardware programs through NPI and production.
  • Experience with complex electromechanical systems or high-performance compute hardware.
  • Strong understanding of EVT, DVT, PVT, production ramp, and design-for-manufacturing reviews.
  • Experience working with contract manufacturers, FATP partners, or ODM/OEM manufacturing operations.
  • Ability to work in person from the San Jose office and travel internationally as needed.

Nice to have

  • Experience with AI servers, accelerator systems, networking hardware, storage systems, or other high-performance compute platforms.
  • Familiarity with SMT manufacturing, factory operations, automated test systems, or final system integration.
  • Experience with yield analytics, SPC, process capability metrics, or manufacturing data systems.
  • Experience with liquid-cooled systems, advanced packaging, high-density compute, or ASIC, thermal, reliability, and validation engineering.
  • Experience bringing first-generation hardware products into production in a fast-paced startup environment.
