Staff Build Engineer (Robotics)

Salary: $175,000–$215,000 annually

What you will do

• Improve CI/CD performance by reducing build, test, and deployment times across the engineering organization.
• Design scalable automation that improves developer productivity while maintaining software quality and release reliability.
• Optimize distributed build systems, caching strategies, test execution, and resource utilization.
• Partner with software teams to streamline workflows and remove operational bottlenecks.
• Establish engineering standards, tooling, and observability for CI/CD health, pipeline performance, and developer experience.
• Enable continuous delivery of software to simulation environments, cloud platforms, and physical robots.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience for Senior level or 10+ years for Staff level in Build Engineering, Developer Productivity, DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering, or Platform Engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Strong programming experience in Python, Go, Bash, or similar automation languages.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD and build technologies such as GitHub Actions, Buildkite, Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, Bazel, Buck2, or CMake.
• Experience supporting Linux development environments and large-scale software engineering workflows.
• Ability to lead cross-functional technical initiatives and influence engineering standards.

Nice to have

• Experience with monorepos, distributed compilation, remote execution, and build caching.
• Experience building internal developer platforms or developer productivity tooling.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience with automated test infrastructure, parallel test execution, engineering metrics, and CI/CD observability.
• Experience supporting robotics, autonomous systems, embedded software, gaming, or other performance-sensitive organizations.
