Senior Data Modeler (Healthcare)

Location: Chicago, United States

Salary: $110,000–$160,000 annually for Illinois; $120,000–$170,000 for NYC/Boston. Compensation may vary for California, Colorado, and New York.

What you will do

• Manage an enterprise data model integrating clinical records, EHR, ECG, radiology, and other complex healthcare data domains.
• Create and maintain entity-relationship diagrams, data dictionaries, API specifications, and data translation documentation.
• Design and implement transformations from source systems into a common data model.
• Collaborate with clinicians and data scientists to define and validate clinical endpoint features.
• Implement proactive data-quality monitoring with traceability to source systems and profile partner data for completeness.
• Educate engineering teams on data-modeling standards, rules, and best practices.

Requirements

• Healthcare and informatics data domain knowledge.
• Experience with data-modeling techniques including 3NF, dimensional modeling, star schemas, and data vault.
• Advanced SQL skills in an enterprise data-warehouse environment.
• Knowledge and practical experience with ETL/ELT and BI architectures, concepts, and frameworks.
• Experience architecting solutions across relational, MPP, and NoSQL database technologies.
• Experience with data-modeling tools such as Erwin, Vertabelo, or Lucidchart.

Nice to have

• Experience with GCP architecture, particularly BigQuery.
• Experience with clinical and cardiovascular data, Epic tables, or HL7.
• Experience writing and debugging Python, working with dbt, or implementing master, reference, or metadata management solutions.
