Senior Staff Network Architect (AI Infrastructure)

Location: On-site in San Francisco, CA; Bellevue, WA; or Sunnyvale, CA, United States

Salary: $250,000–$300,000 annually plus bonus and restricted stock units

What you will do

• Design and implement hyperscale AI data center networks, including spine-leaf fabrics, out-of-band management, RDMA, and inter-campus WAN connectivity.
• Develop intent-based networking frameworks, declarative configuration management, GitOps provisioning, and continuous network validation pipelines.
• Maintain network source-of-truth models covering IPAM, DCIM, and CMDB data, keeping devices, links, and policies version-controlled and consistent.
• Build day-0, day-1, and day-2 automation using Ansible, Nornir, Terraform, and source-of-truth systems.
• Implement streaming telemetry with gNMI/gRPC, intent verification, and closed-loop remediation.
• Author reference architectures and design documents, participate in architecture reviews, and mentor network engineers.

Requirements

• 8+ years of progressive network engineering experience, including leadership of cross-team design initiatives.
• Experience designing or operating large-scale, multi-site data center networks with 1,000+ switches.
• Strong knowledge of BGP, EVPN/VXLAN, OSPF, ECMP, BFD, and modern data center routing.
• Hands-on SDN and network programmability experience with NETCONF/YANG, RESTCONF, or gNMI.
• Experience with Kubernetes networking, CNI selection, network policies, and BGP integration.
• Familiarity with RDMA, RoCEv2, InfiniBand, PFC, ECN, lossless fabrics, Git, CI/CD, Terraform, Ansible, and Nornir.

Nice to have

• Experience at a hyperscaler, AI cloud provider, HPC center, or large-scale colocation operator.
• Hands-on experience with SONiC, P4, SRv6, or Broadcom Tomahawk/Trident platforms.
• Open-source contributions to SONiC, NetBox, FRR, Cilium, or similar networking projects.
• Experience with Batfish, Minesweeper, eBPF networking, or observability tools.
• CCIE, JNCIE, or vendor-specific SDN/cloud certifications.
