AI Cloud Network Architect

Location: Remote within San Jose, California or Austin, Texas

What you will do

• Design end-to-end architectures for AI data center networks, data center interconnects, and global backbone networks supporting large-scale GPU clusters.
• Plan AIDC network components including GPU cluster interconnects, InfiniBand/RoCE networks, Spine-Leaf/Clos topologies, front-end business networks, and out-of-band management networks.
• Collaborate with cloud platform engineering on underlay architecture and overlay integration using SDN controllers, VXLAN, and EVPN.
• Define congestion-control standards and tune PFC, ECN, and In-band Network Telemetry for hyperscale cluster networks.
• Create high- and low-level architecture documentation, topology diagrams, configuration standards, and operating procedures.
• Identify network architecture risks, develop improvement roadmaps, and drive implementation through completion.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electronics, or a related field.
• 8+ years of network architecture design and planning experience in a hyperscale internet company, major cloud provider, or multinational backbone operator.
• Expertise in AI compute cluster networking, including InfiniBand and RoCEv2 architecture design.
• Strong knowledge of BGP, OSPF, ECMP, VXLAN, EVPN, and Segment Routing, including SR-MPLS and SRv6.
• Knowledge of optical transport networks, DWDM, and global backbone peering and transit strategies.
• Strong cross-functional and cross-cultural communication skills, resilience under pressure, and a technology-focused mindset.

Nice to have

• Experience with Rail-Optimized high-performance network architectures.
• Hands-on experience planning and deploying networks for 10,000- to 100,000-GPU-scale clusters.
