Lawyer - Disputes & Operations (Banking)

Location: Hybrid, with at least two days per week or 40% of working time at an office in Bristol, Cardiff, Chester, Edinburgh, Halifax, or Leeds, United Kingdom

What you will do

• Deliver litigation and contentious regulatory support for projects and cases.
• Manage caseloads through strategic case management, briefing, and influencing business partners.
• Manage relationships with external panel law firms.
• Support business areas in identifying and resolving legal risks.
• Represent the legal function in business and divisional projects.
• Develop protocols to improve the efficiency of litigation and contentious regulatory work.

Requirements

• Qualified solicitor in England and Wales or Scotland, or holding an equivalent legal qualification with a current practising certificate.
• Knowledge of dispute resolution and previous litigation experience in a law firm or in-house environment.
• Experience with legal issues in the banking and financial services sector.
• Sound understanding of the technical and procedural factors affecting contentious matters.
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication, strong organisation, and attention to detail.
• Ability to build trusting, collaborative relationships with business, operations, and legal colleagues.
